Two birds woke up early…

It was time to find some worm,

“Breakfast!” chirped one loudly,

Pointing to an earthworm squirm!

 

Down they flew, beaks wide open.

WOOSH, they landed on the ground.

TWACK WACK, they began poking

Worm woke up to that sound!

 

“I got a head!” screamed one!

“I got a tail!” screamed the other!

Pull out your worm… this is fun.

Wait, we got the same one???”

 

“He’s mine!!” grumbled one.

“Not a chance,” growled the other

“Let go,” screamed the worm,

“You both are such a bother.”

 

FLAP FLAP went one,

PECK PECK went the other.

FLAP PECK TWACK WACK…

Down they promptly dropped their snack

 

“Take this,” screamed one with a twig,

“Missed me!!” laughed the other flying around

Worm decided to not make a sound!

He crawled back quietly into the ground!
