TURKEY TROT!!
Toby, the turkey set off on a trot,
He was bored, alone and cross with his lot!
Off he went to the woods alone,
Ready to flutter his feathers and moan.
Oh! What a silly family have I,
Busy, boring and sometimes sly!
I’d rather live here, far away,
No one to ruin a perfect day!
So what if I have to live on my own!
I’d rather be angry and bored alone!
“You’re not alone,” said a voice all bright,
A big red wolf walked up to his right!
“You have me, come lets have lunch,
My family is a much more interesting bunch!”
Toby’s little legs shook, he turned pale,
The wolf grinned and downed his ale!
TOBY took off as fast as he could,
He wasn’t going to be this wolf’s food!
Up he went, onto the branch of a tree,
The wolf just below, growling with his teeth!
Just then he heard their cries and cackles.
His family had arrived, ready for the battle.
“Too many,” said wolf and slithered away!
“Guess, you’re not going to my lunch today!”
Toby was relieved, he began to cry.
He hugged his family tight for a while!
They may not be perfect but they’re my own he thought,
So he sat at dinner, thankful for the whole lot!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
