THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANTS
“A time to work, a time to play.”
Sang the ants through the day.
“Through the grass, up the hill.
Do the work, don’t sit still.
Find the food, there’s the fun.
Lots to do, in the sun.”
Humming along, dum-di-diddle.
Came Grasshopper, with his fiddle!
“Summer’s here!” he sang and skipped.
Over the flowers, jumped and flipped.
“C’mon ants! Time to dance!
Seize the day! Grab the chance!”
“Yes, we will, when work is done!
Gather food, then have your fun!
Winter is coming soon enough.
A hungry tummy can be tough.”
Grasshopper said, “I’ll wait a minute!
I’ll first enjoy the summer spirit!”
Minute by minute, the days went by.
Grasshopper sang into the sky!!
The ant hill was now full of food.
Winter came but they felt good!
Hungry in the cold, shaking like a leaf.
Grasshopper looked for some relief!
He wasted his summer in song and dance.
Didn't save food when he had a chance.
Hey kids, what do you think of the story? Do you always have a plan to work first and reward yourself with play later? How do you strike your balance between hard work and play?
