THE ANT'S DAY OUT!!
Moongi the ant, jumped out of his bed,
stretching the antennae on his head.
He was excited, it was his birthday!
He hoped a party was coming his way.
Out he stepped, the anthill was busy.
Worker ants ran in a tizzy!
Oh! He thought, they all forgot!
His party plans were in a spot!!
He thought and thought as he toiled,
His little ant head was in turmoil .
He gathered up seeds, he munched on fruit.
He dragged big leaves down his route.
Then he met a can called ‘Recycle’
A brilliant idea made its arrival.
When his day was over, he returned to the can
and his plan for his birthday began.
Little pieces of plastic and paper he found.
Huffing, puffing as he cleaned the ground.
Just when he thought he could do no more.
His ant family came to even the score.
They all lifted, they all pulled.
They cleaned up the Earth as much as they could.
Moongi felt good to work for this cause,
The ants gave him a birthday applause!
When he went to bed late that night,
His heart was filled with warm delight.
