Corn and Pumpkin to the rescue!!
Bucky and Ducky were farmers and friends,
It was fall when harvesting ends.
Bucky grew pumpkins, Ducky grew corn.
One fall day, their fight was born!
“Pumpkins are the best,” roared Bucky with glee.
“Corn is better,” chuckled Ducky, “So I disagree.”
“Don’t even try, and look me in the eye,
for I’m no Lier and your squash I will fry!”
So began the fight of that Fall,
As leaves turned golden and corn stood tall.
The townsfolk kept themselves busy,
Watching the fight get to a tizzy!
The wise old lady huffed at their fighting,
She gathered firewood to do some lighting,
She rolled her eyes and shook her head.
Time to show the men another way instead!
She cut up the corn, one by one.
And behold… a yummy soup was done!
Next she got to the pumpkin, Oh my,
Out she stepped with pumpkin pie!
The townsfolk ate and drank as they saw,
Bucky and Ducky fight to a draw.
They were done punching, they were sore,
They looked at the food, hmmm hard to ignore...
“This is the last of it,” the old lady said,
She put down a bowl of soup and bread.
As they sat and took their very first slurp,
They forgot the fight to the very last burp!
And just when they thought that they were done,
She brought out a pumpkin pie for fun!
CHOMP, ‘Yum, delicious!’ they went!
Soon the pie had a very big dent!
So corn and pumpkin did the trick,
As their plates were cleaned with one big lick…
The old friends forgot their fight!
They laughed and sang into the night!
